Why Baleport Requires Identity Verification
Identity verification helps create a safe and trustworthy environment for both shippers and haulers. It prevents fraud, protects payments, and ensures that every person interacting on the platform is who they claim to be. While haulers must complete full KYU verification, shippers may also be required to verify their identity when handling high-value transactions or altering sensitive account details.
How Verification Works
Baleport uses Stripe Identity, a secure, industry-leading verification system. When you begin the process, you’ll be redirected to a Stripe-hosted page where you’ll upload:
A valid government-issued ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
A quick real-time selfie for liveness detection
Stripe instantly checks that your documents are legitimate and that they match your selfie.
🔒 Your images and verification data are encrypted and processed through Stripe — Baleport never stores your ID photos directly.
What You’ll See After Verification
Once approved, your account shows a Verified Identity badge. If anything needs review (such as blurry photos or mismatched information), you’ll receive guidance on how to retry the process.
